We know, we know. Gut health? Why in the world would we be writing about that. Well, did you know that gut health has been found to be related to numerous things including your skin's health and appearance? As the body's largest organ, the skin is interconnected with your overall health. Exterior symptoms on the skin might be symptomatic of inflammation within your body. The gut microbiome is what we call the balance of bacteria within the gut. A healthy gut will help prevent inflammation, but if it's out of balance it can, like we previously mentioned, influence the health and the appearance of your skin.
Foods To Add To Your Diet
Watching what you eat can help you heal your gut, and keep it healthy. When it comes down to it, just eat more whole foods, especially fruits and vegetables. Eat the rainbow! Of course, more fiber-rich and probiotic-packed foods are a great place to start. Some foods that are full of fiber are spinach, carrots, and sweet potatoes. Whole grains are also a great source of fiber. Foods like yogurt, kombucha, and sauerkraut are full of probiotics, and help a lot! Feel free to load up on spices such as garlic, turmeric and ginger! These can aid your gut in getting rid of harmful bacteria.

Foods To Limit In Your Diet
Of course, adding all those nutrient-rich foods into your diet will have less of an effect if you are still overly indulging in foods such as alcohol and sugars. So while you're eating more whole foods, don't forget to cut back on your alcohol consumption and the sugars (both natural and artificial) that you allow into your body.

Improve Overall Health
Other small things can help improve not only your gut health, but your overall health as well. Things like drinking more water, flossing your teeth regularly, getting more sleep, exercising more, and managing your stress and anxiety levels can go far in helping you feel better all the way around.
Paying attention to your gut health is important, especially as it's linked to your overall health. But improving your gut health can also help you to have clearer, younger-looking skin, and that's something we'd all love!
